Water Tank PE Lining

It must be more environment-friendly and advanced than present concrete water tank with following problems :

• Bisphenol A, which is environmental hormone fatally harmful to the human body, was detected.
  
• In 1~2 years of construction, the epoxy resin film swells and peels off.
  
• Be cautious of fire. If ventilation is poor the worker may be fatally hurt. If the skin is stained with the paint, the paint must be removed immediately

1. What is PE ?

HDPE (High density polyethylene) is produced through high-tech manufacturing method and its high workability and outstanding quality are acknowledged throughout the world (Material provided by LG Chem) The product is not corroded or rusted by chlorine gas. It is also highly chemical-resistant (acid and alkali) and inhibits the propagation of microbes such as bacteria. Moreover, it is not eroded at all by corrosive substances in soil.

The product uses materials that were approved to be used for drinking water by FDA of USA and JHPC of Japan. Because it has clean surface and is highly corrosion-resistant, it is outstandingly sanitary and clean even after a long use.

PE and PP are highly resistant to abrasion, so they are permanent. Because of its high elasticity coefficient, it is not damaged if not intentionally destroyed and shows strong restoring force.

If a PE sheet is attached to the surface of concrete using fixing pins, an additional PE sheet is installed over the fixing pins and the two sheets are thermally bonded to each other, a perfect watertight effect is attained. PE sheet is manufactured through special extrusion and heated forming and pressing technology, so it is recyclable.

2. Application

PE, considering its elements, is known to be harmless to the human body and widely used in food packages such as the containers of various drinks, water container, baby bottles and paper cup coating, construction facilities, PE pipes for water supply, etc.

In addition, the product does not contain additives or elements such as PVC and FRP that may cause the occurrence of environmental hormones nor additional reinforcing materials (glass fiber).
